The story for the game is rushed and really makes little to no sense for me, although I have only been playing for 2.5 hours. The graphics are nice, obviously, but the music sucks nuts since the old Final Fantasy composer left to do other things.

The combat is fast paced and very similar to 12 in that you only control 1 person and the other 2 are AI controlled with pre-determined moves based on how you want to play, i.e. Healing a lot, tanking, balls out DPS, etc.

I am more fond of controlling all my players, but I supposed that slow paced, turn based combat has gone the way of the dinosaur with all of us becoming ADD.

Oh, and the black guy in the game is a fucking douche. He is annoying me hard already. His little fuckstick fro is lame. Barrett > FF13 token black guy.

I agree with sin on the 2/3 of the party being AI sucked balls UNTIL the paradigm shifts came in then I freaking loved it. Being able to change how the entire party works in a split second in the middle of combat makes for some pretty interesting tactical moves.

I only have 2 complaints at the moment. The camera seems "clunky"(when I move the right analog to do a small camera move I end up making a huge move) to me but that may be because I got used to zooming way the hell out in WoW and staying there all the time. The 2nd is all the cut scenes it seems like every 3 steps is a new small cut scene but I am hopeing that is just because it is the beginning of the game and they are trying to get the story line going and "explain" the world to the player.

I was worried about the auto heal at the end of every combat making the game way to ez but I grew to like it very quickly as it keeps the game flowing pretty well. Granted I am not very far atm(vile cliffs?) but once I got used to the battle system OMG trying to see how fast I can finish a battle and get 5 stars is so much fun.

I have the Ps3 version and the graphics are very nice. Overall I am happy with the game.
