Not worth the expense right now in my opinion.

Do you get any employer or student discounts from work/school, Const? My firm has a discount with Dell and Apple, so I use the employee discount - every little bit helps.

SSD FTW. As mentioned in another thread, I bought a 128GB SSD drive. It's fast as heck. I have my OS on it, WoW, and a few other things. Everything else lives on my old hard drive.

They're just super pricy and if you have kids or something probably best that money goes towards their college fund.

Also, Windows 7 is great!!! Well worth the upgrade (only recently upgraded myself).

Currently sitting with 8GB of ram, that SSD, and Windows 7 64bit. That windows 7 scoring thingamajig rates my computer 6.6. And the only major change was faster ram and HD (It was 5.5 prior).

Edit:
Here's the drive I bought. I also bought a converter so it'll fit in a regular 3.5 hard drive bay:

Drive (note: It was cheaper when I bought it a couple weeks ago. Must have been on sale)
Converter

I had RAM last less than 2 years on me, and now I am having problems with RAM I have had less than 6 months. My luck is shitty but I can't believe this is a coincidence

if I did go SSD would 80 gigs be enough for Windows and Wow? anything else I'd just put in an extra drive, got tons laying around

I'm starting to re-evaluate building it myself vs buying a pre-built one, I'm just afraid to fuck up again

That would easily blow my system out of the water. And I don't have any performance issues with WoW. (Same video card btw)
